Four Day Work Week
What it was: A global petition and pressure campaign to convince at least 10 companies, institutions, and nonprofits to pilot a 4 day work week—the same pay and benefits for a 32-hour working week.
What we did:
- Sourced and hired illustrator and web developer
- Developed all copy and comms for potential partners and thought leaders
- Wrote iterative one-pagers sent to Congressional leaders
- Advised staff that reported findings to Congressman Mark Takano (D-CA)
- Managed partnerships team and socials team
- Project managed website launch
Result:
- Nearly 75,00 signatures across 100+ companies and 30+ countries within 8 months of site launch
- 38 companies, institutions, and nonprofits piloting the 4 day week in 2022 in just over one year of work

In the last three years, hundreds of companies have already moved from working five eight-hour days (40 hours) to four eight-hour days (32 hours) without cutting pay or benefits for employees—and without sacrificing productivity or profitability. A century after industrialized countries transitioned from the six-day to the five-day week, we are long overdue for an update to claim back our time and energy. With benefits for mental health, employee satisfaction, and even long-term carbon reductions from fewer communtes, a four day work week is positioned to feed many birds with one scone.
