What it was: set the stage to scale the founders of GivingTuesday’s next big initiative tackling toxic polarization.

We we did:
  • Design and maintain program management tools across Hubspot, Notion, Teams, and Monday.
  • Own external storytelling across online materials, gathering materials, and pitch decks.
  • Pitch, hire, and onboard full-time staff and consultants across Field and Communications teams.
  • Lead a rebrand to build geographic flexibility into the initiative’s name.
  • Secure talks for Senior Director and SVP.

Result:
  • One full-time and four consultants—all from various underrepresented backgrounds—hired.
  • Team featured at several talks and conferences, including SOCAP Global 2023 and Points of Light 2024.
  • Tripled the number of participants in 2023 alone with the intention of reaching 80,000 by 2027.
  • Rebrand across all materials and websites for organizers to use in the coming years.

The United States’ trajectory toward a binaristic, polarized populace is largely a lie. 86% of Americans believe we can actually improve our trust in one another—they often just need the tools to understand those who disagree with them.

Share Our America—the next initative from 92NY’s Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact, the founders of GivingTuesday—fundamentally retrains Americans’ capacity to hear and listen to those who disagree with them. By training an intergenerational network of community organizers to facilitate dialogue across their towns, regions, and cities, Share Our America forges unlikely relationships and unlocks trust across differences.

Americans are already witnessing the power of structured dialogue, learning where they agree, intersect, and can co-create the futures they want today. The initiative has helped BIPOC students in Pennsylvania—and the law enforcement on their campus—redefine safety. It’s built direct connections between previously incarcerated individuals and urban developers in Memphis. Share Our America trained faith leaders to celebrate difference in a small town in Western Nebraska. And it held space for LGBTQ+ organizers in Chattanooga to feel heard, align, and take action in their community.

If you’d like to join the growing movement of bridging differences and moving communities past stalemates, head to their website.
